Beginning from the 1st November 2022, a RM20.00 of processing fee will be charged to each property changes/transfer ownership for the purpose of Assessment Tax at Seremban City Council.

If the owner failed to inform the MBS regarding the changes of the ownership before 1st November 2022, a compound will be imposed according to the specification as per table below.

Accordance to Section 160, the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171), the property owner must inform the Local Authority when a property is sold or transferred within 3 months from the date of ownership (land grant) is acquired or 1 year from the date of the deceased.

The property owner who failed to do so, a maximum of RM2,000.00 penalty or a maximum of 6 months imprisonment or both can be imposed.

The State Government has agreed to postpone the imposed penalty as per item 4, however agreed to impose the compound rate as per item 2 above.

The property owner may visit to the Property Valuation and Management Department (JPPH), Seremban City Council as soon as possible by 31st October 2022 or call JPPH at 06 7654758 for any queries.

For the property buyer/owner within the area of Seremban, please be ensured that the assessment bill is registered under owner’s name. If it is registered under the previous owner, a compound will be imposed starting 1st November 2022. Please grab this opportunity to update the information before 31st October 2022.
