Engagement Program of the Mayor with Garden Homes Hawkers, Seremban 2
Seremban, 20 September 2025 – The Seremban City Council (MBS) held an Engagement Program of the Mayor with Garden Homes Hawkers, Seremban 2. The purpose of this program was to provide clearer and more transparent information regarding the requirements, procedures, and conditions for obtaining a Temporary Hawker Site at Garden Homes S2F2, Seremban 2. Through the Licensing & Entrepreneur Development Department, MBS has prepared two Localized Hawker Sites (TPS), namely at TPS Phase F (25 lots) and TPS S2F2 (40 lots). The allocation of lot numbers was carried out through a balloting process based on the business session selected by the traders, either morning or evening. The ballot results were as follows:
1. 6 traders chose Phase F (morning session);
2. 9 traders chose Phase F (evening session);
3. 7 traders chose Phase S2F2 (morning session);
4. 13 traders chose Phase S2F2 (evening session).
A total of 13 business permits were successfully issued to hawkers who submitted complete documents. Meanwhile, 22 applications that did not qualify for permits must submit supporting documents to the Licensing & Entrepreneur Development Department of MBS. In addition, 18 applications involving business types unsuitable for the localized hawker site at this time will be allocated at a suitable location in the near future. Furthermore, the MBS Environmental Health Department also set up an exhibition booth on the “No Plastic Bag Campaign.” MBS urged successful hawkers to use biodegradable plastic bags at their stalls. YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of Seremban City Council, delivered a speech and presented temporary licenses to the successful hawkers. Also present at the session were Mr. Mohd Lotffee bin Abdullah, Director of Licensing & Entrepreneur Development, Mr. Shamaruddin bin Saidin, Head of the Corporate Communication Unit, and officers from various internal departments of MBS.
